15 MINUTE MATHS
MATERIALS! |
15 Minute Maths is a 15-minute routine
of maths activities that are connected to everyday life situations.
All activities are centred around an interactive board that includes
both hands-on and visual materials. Children use a calendar, look at
patterns, create graphs, count the number of days they have been in
school and do many other “thinking tasks”. Mathematical concepts and
reasoning are promoted, then reinforced, through targeted
questioning. |
|
 |
Key Features:
• Addresses key concepts such as number, measurement, time,
money, mental maths, estimation, geometry, patterns and
graphing.
• Daily exposure and frequent repetition ensures strong concept
development.
• Activities gradually built up over successive months to allow
children to gradually. internalise processes and newly acquired
skills.
• Comprehensive teacher’s guide provides useful diagrams, lists
of materials and suggested questions to encourage children’s
