Quotes from The Inspection Report for Biggin Hill Primary School in Hull, which took place in November 2008.

This large primary school serves an area where socio-economic circumstances are well below what is expected nationally. The proportion of children eligible for free school meals is well above average.

Teaching and learning are good.  Good use is made of ‘talk partners’ and group work so that pupils can learn together and develop their speaking and listening skills which they use with increasing confidence.

There is a strong programme of phonics teaching which has a positive impact on pupils’ reading throughout school.
