The Year Six Teaching Package consists of eleven units that covers five
important text genres, develops children's ability to articulate their
thinking about text and focuses on key literacy, presentational and
functional devices. The package also includes detailed guidance on
teaching five genres of writing (recount, non-chronological report,
persuasion, balanced report and story). Writing support materials
include text for deconstruction, photocopiable posters to support
writing and planning materials. Schools should also purchase one copy of
each of ten real books.
A half day training is required to
achieve the most from these materials. |
